Putting together Milo's nursery was such an exciting and special experience. We really wanted it to reflect our personal style, have a neutral colour palette, and not break the bank! Scroll through to see how we did it!
I loved the idea of a change table that doubles as a dresser. It's a great solution for small spaces, and when Milo gets older we can remove the change top to convert it to a "big kid" dresser! We ordered this one from Amazon for much less than the price in retail stores, plus it shipped straight to our home. Hello, convenience!
It was a bit of a challenge to find a cute, reasonably priced rug to suit the space. Is it just me, or are rugs like super expensive?! We happened across this super fluffy grey one at HomeSense for just $50 and jumped on it. If there's one thing I've learned about shopping at Winners or HomeSense, it's that you better grab it when you see it!
I'm all about savvy organization, and these Pudda foldable baskets from Ikea totally fit the bill. They are the perfect size for diapers and many other nursery necessities, and the gold snaps are such a lovely accent.
This bookshelf was another great Ikea find. I love the asymmetry, because it makes it look interesting and more expensive. I actually had quite a hard time finding a cute bookcase that wasn't $700. Most of the affordable options were just so basic! I had to comb through the Ikea website a handful of times before I finally found this one. We jazzed it up a bit by painting the feet gold, and it really fit the space beautifully. Also worth noting is that it easily fits different sized organizational boxes - perfect for toys and other knick knacks!
These beautiful prints are from The Animal Print Shop by Sharon Montrose. Alex and I saw them while browsing at Indigo and absolutely fell in love. We knew we had to have them for our little babe's room! We actually had a very difficult time choosing only four - they are all so darling!
This adorable rhino was made for us by our friend Trisha - yes, it's handmade!! These are the things that really make our nursery feel special.
We opted for a very soft grey on the walls and I love how it turned out. It really feels warm and makes the white accents pop.
This vintage wooden rocking chair was used by my grandmother when my mom was a baby, and by my mom when I was born! When my mom offered it to us, I thought it would be such an amazing story to be able to tell our kids one day. We painted it white to give it a little update and it matches the decor beautifully.
This side table came with a basic round knob, but we swapped it out for this adorable elephant from Anthropologie to give it a personalized touch. A small change like this can make such a big difference and it's so easy to do - plus it's super inexpensive!
This stuffed koala head was another Etsy find - from the AtelierCaroline shop. I love it because it's a little different from your typical wall decor and it's so darn cute!
In keeping with our gold accent theme, we got this rose gold basket from Indigo. It's the perfect size for stashing stuffed animals or blankets, or whatever you need to toss aside! Alex actually bought me this flamingo a few years back (I'm obsessed with flamingos), but I thought she looked super cute here!
