a good disguise

As I navigate life with baby weight, I'm finding out what works and what really, really doesn't. For instance, pants without stretch are so not happening.

These jeans are from Free People, and I've come to the conclusion that they are the most flattering jeans money can buy. They are high-rise, effectively smoothing out the tummy and that nasty little "muffin top" area, and they're slightly cropped which I find elongates the legs. It might be personal preference, but when my jeans are long enough to hit my shoes it just makes me feel stumpy!

This sleeveless sweater is another great option for disguising a little extra around the middle. A heavier fabric is much more forgiving than a jersey knit, and the solid cream colour keeps everything looking smooth. Plus you can never go wrong with a peplum, because it draws the eye in, giving the illusion of a smaller waist!

As you may have read on my Instagram, I scored these floral Gucci mules at Marshalls for about a third of the regular retail price. Aren't they darling? Let this be a lesson to all the fashionista husbands out there to always let us scour the discount stores!! 😉
