how to: dress up a basic jumpsuit

I bought this jumpsuit after having Milo because it's super soft and comfy, and there was a period of time when I really couldn't deal with "real" clothes. There's nothing better than throwing on a one-piece and not having to worry about creating a whole outfit.

That being said, it's great when you can dress up your comfy clothes for a different look. My first tip? Choose black. Black can almost always be dressed up. This jumpsuit also came in grey - but that would've straight up looked like pajamas.

My second tip is to accessorize. Nothing completes an outfit like a few simple accessories. I chose a small, short necklace because this jumpsuit has a high neckline, and a longer chain would've thrown it off balance. Not to mention, if you had a pendant dangling right above the tie-waist, it would draw everyone's eyes right to your tummy - and no one wants that!!

I chose a gauzy, neutral scarf to add some dimension, and I draped it over my shoulders to keep it summery. A neutral palette keeps the look classy and clean.

I finished the look with a nude mule as opposed to a sandal or flat, because a heel goes a long way when dressing up an outfit! I'm still trés comfy here, but now I'm ready for dinner and drinks.
